الخيال العلمي
Contrary to popular belief, a treasure was never buried on the formerly separated islands now known as the single island, Oak Island. It was actually a deep-sea excavation within and beneath the bedrock supporting the islands. The southeastern portion of this small landmass is comprised of Mississippian Windsor Group limestone and gypsum, and the northwestern part is Cambro-Ordovician Halifax Formation slate. The two variations of bedrock between the islands were chosen to provide a surface layer of protection to prevent radioactive waves from reaching life on the surface.
