Understanding the Fear of the Lord: The Importance of Walking in the Light

Understanding and abiding in “the fear of the Lord, ” is an essential kingdom concept, beneficial for both the believer and the unbeliever alike of hating evil, Proverbs 8:13, and then to flee from evil. It is not meant to be a scary thing or a hidden mystery, but is rather a concept for our own good, so we can then abide in the light as He is in the light, 1st John 1:7.

The book first defines what the phrase “the fear of the Lord, ” means, by looking at the scriptures, while also exposing some of man's vain reasonings on the subject. Then addressing like New Testament concerns and the truth that God is the only Lawgiver.

To then give this teaching a practical application, of how we can position ourselves to abide in “the fear of the Lord. ” We take a look at how scripture defines what evil is. All of this nicely comes together and gives further understanding on how we can make it happen and began to walk in “the fear of the Lord. ” Thus having an even closer relationship with the Lord.
