Jan Glas debuteert in het Nederlands met Als was zij mijn vrouw. Glas schrijft in heldere taal met een licht absurde toets en een melancholieke ondertoon. Binnen een gedicht kan hij een zijpad inslaan waardoor de lezer ontregeld achterblijft. In andere gedichten weet hij de lezer te ontroeren door details die blijven hangen in het geheugen.
Jan Glas heeft zich de afgelopen jaren voornamelijk gericht op het schrijven van Nederlandstalige gedichten. Hij las het nieuwe werk voor op diverse podia en festivals, onder andere Paradiso, Dichters in de Prinsentuin, Wintertuin en op het Dunya Festival.
