Escritor Colombiano (1858-1940), dedicado a retratar con meticuloso realismo las condiciones de vida, el ambiente y los habitantes de la región de Antioquia. En su obra, que incluye cuentos y novelas, los diálogos reflejan la manera de hablar de las personas antioqueñas comunes, con toda su gracia y defectos; por eso están salpicados de palabras deformadas y con ortografía caprichosa.

Colombian writer Tomas Carrasquilla (1858-1940) meticulously and realistically portrayed the living conditions and inhabitants of the region of Antioquia, Colombia. In his work, which includes stories and novels, dialogues reflect the way common people speak, including all their grace and blunders. Although his writings were not humorous, they are a pleasure to read and hear. Carrasquilla is considered one of the most important Colombian writers.
