It was popular in the 1950s, but my father was a sportswriter for The Des Moines Register, and so he would do isometrics on airplanes to travel to Major League cities.

It was the high point of his working year. He would witness many memorable moments of baseball history, and he always seemed to be there when something significant occurred.
