#1 The first few months with a newborn are a whirlwind of feeding and sleep deprivation, so it is important to prepare your home for these periods. Your baby’s sleep space should include a firm surface, such as a crib or a bassinet with a tight-fitting sheet.

#2 If you are breastfeeding, you will need the following supplies: a nipple cream, nursing bras or tanks, nursing pads, and a bottle warmer. If you are formula feeding, you will need the following supplies: bottles and nipples, a bottle warmer, formula, and a formula mixer.

#3 There are many things you can do to keep your newborn safe, such as securing any unstable furniture and installing smoke detectors. You should also move dangerous household items away from your baby’s reach and start padding sharp furniture edges.

#4 The four types of car seats are rear-facing, convertible, forward-facing, and booster seats. You should get a rear-facing car seat or a convertible car seat that can be converted to forward-facing as your baby grows.
