स्वातन्त्र्यसङ्ग्रामकाले यदा गान्धिवर्यः धनसङ्ग्रहणं कुर्वन्नासीत् तदा काचित् निर्धना जीर्णशीर्णावस्थायुक्ता वृद्धा गान्धिवर्यम् उपसर्प्य भक्त्या नमस्कृत्य कटिस्थेन जीर्णवसनेन ग्रन्थीकृत्य संरक्षिताम् एकां कपर्दिकां निष्कास्य तस्य पादयोः समीपे संस्थाप्य ततः निर्गता । यदा श्रेष्ठिवर्यः श्री जमनालालः गणनायां लेखितुं कपर्दिकाम् अयाचत तदा गान्धिवर्यः तां न अयच्छत् । किमर्थम् ? तस्याः कपर्दिकायाः विशेषः कः ? एतत् सर्वं कथां श्रुत्वा जानन्तु । (“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”) During the freedom struggle, when Gandhiji was collecting money, a poor, elderly woman approached him.
