Once, King Chandragupta of the Magadha kingdom asked his chief minister Chanakya, 'Why is beauty praised in the world? People show respect or disrespect based on appearance alone, don’t they?' Then, Chanakya filled a golden pot and a clay pot with water. He first gave the water from the golden pot to the king and then from the clay pot. The king understood that although both pots contained water, the water in the beautiful golden pot was warm, while the water in the plain clay pot was cool. Similarly, people are admired for their qualities, not just their outward beauty.
