The Guru, seeing a beggar in need, gave the clothes to him. Later, the king gave a gold bangle to the Guru, but the Guru gave it to one of the king’s royal servants who was facing difficulties for his daughter’s wedding. When the king learned of this, he asked the Guru why he had acted this way. The Guru replied, ‘To give is to completely give up ownership of what is given. If you ask about a donation, you won't receive its full benefit’. Understanding his mistake, the king apologized to the teacher.
