When Henry Barlow returns to Victorian London for his father's funeral, he expects to inherit a dusty antique shop and a crumbling house. He doesn't expect to inherit a demon.

His father's journal speaks of a dark pact made in the sands of Egypt, a deal with a malevolent entity named Leraie to bring his mother back from the dead. The ritual failed, but the demon remained.
