El Bloque es un largo poema de corte religioso del autor Salvador Rueda. En él repasa varios episodios bíblicos a través de su lírica modernista y su contundente estilo, desde el génesis hasta el nuevo testamento, pasando por el diluvio universal o el templo de Salomón.
Salvador Rueda fue un periodista y poeta español nacido en Benaque (Málaga) en 1857 y fallecido en Málaga capital en 1933. Se le considera uno de los precursores del movimiento modernista en las letras españolas, con numerosas novelas y relatos de corte costumbrista que retratan el ambiente y la vida andaluza de su época.
