Poet. Naa.Muthunilavan whose real name is Muthu Baskaran is a retired Vice Principal & Senior Tamil Teacher with 35 years of experience in TN Govt.School, Pudukottai.

As an orator, he has attended more than 5000 meetings across all over Tamil Nadu. He has also visited various countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Srilanka, UAE, Muscat, Quatar, Kuwait, Jambia, and Seachells. He is known to Tamil Diaspora through various TV Programs as Dindukkal I.Leoni’s Team-Leader more than 20 years, and separate Interviews in channels like Pothikai, Kalaingnar, Vijay, Sun, Polymer, Raj, and Local channels also.

He has written 6 books across various genres and many of his books won various awards.

He has also written various articles, in magazines like Dinamani, Semmalar, Kanaiyazhi including Tamil web e-zines too. And in his own Tamil Blog - http://valarumkavithai.blogspot.com/ His Poems and Stories were inserted in PG, UG class Text books in Madurai and Tirunelveli universities.

One of His Literacy Prog. ‘Cycle song’ is translated in various Indian Languages. He has also many prestigious awards like ‘Barathi Dhasan’ award, ‘Best Poem Collection Award’ Kalki (weekly) Short story award, Tirupur Tamil sangam Award and so on.

He is very active in ‘Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers’ Assn’ from the beginning, and ‘Kanini Tamil Sangam’ conducted various workshops on Tamil writings.
