Stockholm in the near future. Artificial intelligence and new conditions on the labor market have created a society with large income gaps and great dissatisfaction. Young single mother Tilde Linari struggles to make ends meet, hoping to give her son Caesar a better future. One evening when Tilde comes home after work, many hours late after a tragic act of terror that paralyzed Stockholm, Caesar is gone without a trace. In a society where everything leaves a digital footprint, how is it possible that a little boy can just disappear? For experienced police officer Ada Blix, the disappearance stirs up heartbreaking memories. Now hope is being raised again to find out what happened to her own daughter who disappeared under identical circumstances 30 years ago. The scant traces of Caesar lead to the boy's absent father, and in their desperate search, Tilde and Ada soon find themselves on a collision course with powerful interests, all of whom have ulterior motives. Panopticon is a dystopian thriller that raises questions about our times, what consequences the new technology brings and who ultimately dictates the truth. And not least about the choices a parent is forced to make to save their child. Panopticon is written by JC Koldemo, which is a pseudonym.
