#4 The 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Marine Regiment, known as the Island Warriors, was sent to the Haditha Triad region of western Iraq in late 2006. The Triad was a geographic term coined by the Marine Corps that consisted of the city of Haditha and a number of surrounding towns and villages.
