Don’t I have a right over it? I cannot sit mutely while my soul screams in pain for the right over its body. I have to find a place where I am not a stranger to myself, where I have respect. If one should argue that such a place doesn’t exist, I wouldn’t believe that. Even if it doesn’t exist, I will create my own. The place I create with my ideas would be a wake-up call for those who think that a woman’s job is only to make kids.”, writes Volga. The writer portrays the struggles of middle-class women against the high-handed patriarchy of Telugu culture in this collection of stories called “Bhinna Sandarbhaalu”.
