Hidden Witness: A Forest Glen Suspense

After hiding for decades, Winifred Grimsley, known as Miss Freddie, faces the past when her former boyfriend appears at her door as a Federal agent looking for her testimony. She'd run to protect him in the past. Now trouble is at her doorstep as they find themselves on the run from her former employer.

As a young woman, Winifred was a secretary for MAX Enterprises while waiting for a career in art education. She met and fell in love with Kent Russell, a young police officer and befriended the boss's young daughter. Max Whitney, her boss, asked her to participate in hacking other companies. When she refused, Max threatened Kent's life if Freddie told him about his request.

Freddie struck a deal with Max to save Kent but had to leave him without an explanation. That deal allowed her to travel to Europe for more art training. Eventually she settled down as an art teacher in rural Lee County, Virginia. Max and his evil choices no longer controlled her.

Until Max's daughter shows up at her door with Federal Agent Graham to find out what was in a package Max sent her before he died.

When Kent Russell sees the name of the woman who'd broken his heart on his agent's contact list, he leaves his desk job as head of an Ohio bureau to investigate this woman from his past. He'd tried to forget her. Kent had a wonderful wife, faithful and loving until cancer took her away. Freddie was another matter. She'd left him without an explanation.
