Welcome to the inspiring story of Binti, a female octopus who lives in the Makoona coral reef, and Kemar, a Cambodian boy who fishes there.

When sixteen-year-old Kemar is abandoned at sea for refusing to harm marine life, he washes ashore on the reef—only to become entangled in destructive fishing that's killing the very reef that saved him. Below the waves, Binti the octopus searches for meaning while her coral home explodes around her. Two species, two journeys, one shared fate. Can redemption come from the most unlikely connections? With Grateful Dead wisdom and WWF endorsement, *Makoona* transforms readers into ocean advocates.
