Самоусъвършенстване
John Perry’s insights and laugh-out-loud humor bring to mind Thurber, Wodehouse, and Harry Frankfort’s On Bullshit. This charming and accessible audio educates, entertains, and illuminates a universal subject. Procrastinators will be relieved to learn that actually you can accomplish quite a lot while procrastinating. In fact, the book itself is the result of Perry avoiding grading papers, refereeing academic proposals, and reviewing dissertation drafts. It also has a practical side, offering up advice that listeners can put to use. Who knew that placing “Learn Chinese” at the top of your to-do list would inspire you to get the less monumental tasks below it done? Witty, wise, and beautifully written, The Art of Procrastination will make the perfect gift for the untold number of lollygaggers out there.

Short book with mainly common sense tips and explanations about procrastination. If you want to procrastinate for a short time - worth a read. Though there are better books on procrastination if you are really interested in it. Some of the insights from the book for me are:Structural procrastinator - a person, who gets a lot done by not doing other things. Doing the lower priority tasks becomes a way of not doing the things higher up on the list (the most urgent and important). Accomplish the great task by series of small acts/ tasks (the kaizen way). Break down your task into smaller, less demanding sub-tasks. Easy tasks at the beginning will help you get the feelings of accomplishment flowing. You can also include tasks that you should not do (eg sit down at the desk not on the couch, don’t start surfing the web, don’t check your email). Listen to upbeat, rhythmic music to get you going (pump you up). The “wrong” music (something sad, low) can make you feel worse.
