The Time Machine

“Any real body must have extension in four directions: it must have Length, Breadth, Thickness and Duration. But through a natural infirmity of the flesh, which I will explain to you in a moment, we incline to overlook this fact. There are really four dimensions, three which we call the three planes of Space, and a fourth, Time.” ― H.G. Wells, The Time Machine The Time Machine (1895) by H. G. Wells recounts the story of an eminent scientist, the Time Traveller, who travels into time with the help of his intricate ivory, crystal, and brass apparatus and finds himself in the year 802,701. The world he finds is inhabited by two races−the feeble, inane, useless Eloi who are dependent on food, clothing, and shelter from the subterranean Morlocks, who prey on Eloi. Amidst these strange beings, his life takes on various adventures until he returns home after much struggle, but only to prepare for his next voyage in the future.
