With dragon eggs stolen and a murderer on the loose only days before the Broom Racing Festival, Elsie has once again found herself in the hot seat.

She’s vowed to get the eggs back–even if she has to team up with her biggest (and most baldheaded) enemy to do it. It should be a straightforward case… until a journalist is found dead at the local inn.

He left behind a scathing quill and no shortage of enemies. It seems like he badmouthed everyone in town, and with the Broom Racing Festival fast approaching, Elsie needs to find the culprit. Fast.

But time isn’t on her side, especially not when a cursed capricorn (that’s a goat-unicorn, of course) arrives at the animal shelter. He’s in bad shape and only Elsie can get the potion to save him. It takes her on a mad chase across town, from begging the old hag under the willows to bartering with an unhinged wind dragon.

With dragon eggs to find, a curse to undo, and a murderer to catch, Elsie needs to solve it all before the big broom race… or find her newfound happiness in town burned to a crisp.
