#1 Meetings are a major source of stress for people in the workplace. They are a major source of stress for me, as well. But we've become so accustomed to long meetings, boring meetings, and meetings lacking a clear purpose that our curiosity about whether there might be a better alternative has faded.

#2 In a world with fewer meetings, we would have more time to focus on our real work, which is what propels our company forward. We would be forced to make and defend difficult decisions when these mediocre meetings go away.

#3 Our organization is in desperate need of innovative ideas, but we can’t forget that ideas don’t bring their own commitment or perseverance; only humans do that. Change is never met with open arms.

#4 The BBC, like many other companies, is afraid of making decisions because they fear the ghost of the decision made, the urgent move forward. We must get out of the stands and onto the court.
