ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve is set in a post-apocalyptic world where cities are mobile, consuming smaller towns for resources in a system called Municipal Darwinism. The story follows Tom Natsworthy, a London apprentice, and Hester Shaw, a mysterious scarred girl, as they become entangled in a quest for revenge and the pursuit of an ancient weapon called MEDUSA. The narrative explores the dangers of unchecked ambition and the destructive potential of old technology, as the city of London seeks to dominate other settlements.
