Captain Carly

Actually being a pirate wasn’t anything like playing pirates.

When Carly’s brother Bobby tells her she can’t play pirates with them, she stomps off to the beach, where she finds a magical cave that will make her drawings come to life. Carly sets off on a pirate adventure, joined by her five stuffed bears who suddenly seem as real as she is. The problem is, Carly doesn’t actually know how to be a pirate. Her search for pirate treasure now involves steering her ship around islands and rescuing her bears from a rival gang of pirates, and 7 year old Carly doesn’t feel up to the task.

Captain Carly is the first book in a new series by Kathi Walker. Written for early readers, this series blends adventure, education, and lots and lots of fun. If you like Magic Tree House, you’ll love Carly’s Cave!
