With the YouTube’s popularity and the vlogging’s current trend, it is not a surprise that more and more people have managed to find a way to make money off of it, the same way how people earn money through blogs.

So, what should you vlog about? Anything you want or anything you can think of! What matters is that you’re creating something that the world will be interested in. As long as it is something you like to do and it’s not illegal or offensive, you have the potential to be a vlogger. Finding an audience would be the next step. Sure, your friends will be interested to see what you got on the video, but don’t limit your audience to people you know. There is the whole world who would be interested about what you can offer. Never forget the importance of lighting and editing to the complete process. Absolutely everything, including content, is somewhat secondary. As you progress along your blogging journey, you'll pick up more tricks and effects which work well, both with the medium and your format style. Till then, have patience and faith in your beginner vlogging tools and attempt to raise your skill through experimentation, rather than throwing money at the problems and expecting them to go away. In this fashion, by the time you have enough money to upgrade your equipment to the next level, you'll be able to take your video quality to a whole new league thanks to your trial-honed skills.
