Today, A Delhi Court granted bail to Aumkareshwar Thakur who is accused of creating the 'Sulli Deals' app on GitHub, that enabled auctioning of Muslim women's pictures online. While granting him the bail, the court observed and listen to this carefully: The court said that he is a first-time offender and that prolonged incarceration would be detrimental to his overall well being. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma of Patiala House Court granted bail to Thakur after noting that the investigation in the matter was completed and the chargesheet was filed earlier this month. Additionally, according to Delhi Police, bail has also been granted to 21 year old Neeraj Bishnoi who is alleged to be the conspirator and creator of the Bulli Bai App on GitHub. However, an order copy of Bishnoi's bail is awaited.

"Your Government Targets Minorities": Dayanidhi Maran To Amit Shah Over CrPC Bill, 2022

A court in Gujarat's Surat city, on Thursday, convicted Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in a criminal defamation case against him over his alleged Modi surname remark. He has been sentenced to 2 years in jail by the court. Rahul Gandhi has been convicted under IPC Section 504. The maximum possible punishment under this section is two years. The court also granted him bail and suspended the sentence for 30 days to allow him to appeal in a higher court. Gandhi was present in the court when the verdict was pronounced. The final arguments resumed in the case last month after the Gujarat High Court vacated its stay on proceedings imposed on plea by the complainant demanding Gandhi's personal appearance.
