ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

"The Sword of Kaigen" by M.L. Wang tells the story of Misaki and Takeru, a married couple living in a society built on tradition and propaganda. When their community is devastated by a Ranganese attack, they must confront the lies of their government and learn to trust each other in the face of loss. Misaki challenges Takeru's inaction and they start to work together, defying the Empire by rebuilding their village and finding new ways of being together. The story explores the themes of betrayal, duty, and loyalty, as well as the power of family, community and personal resistance. The narrative is interwoven with political and social upheaval, as well as the couple's journey toward mutual respect and understanding.
