ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

"The Winter People" by Jennifer McMahon tells the story of three women who are connected by a dark secret hidden in the town of West Hall. Ruthie, a teenager, is trying to figure out what happened to her mother who mysteriously disappeared. Katherine is a woman who has moved to West Hall looking for answers about her dead husband. Their lives intersect with the story of Sara Harrison Shea, a woman who, in 1908, tried to bring her dead daughter back to life. The book explores themes of loss, grief, and the dangerous allure of the supernatural as the characters confront the secrets of the past and the terrifying nature of the "sleepers" that inhabit the woods surrounding the town.
