Anne Frank, it has been said, gave a face and a name to the horror of the Holocaust. This is her story. It relates how Anne, her family, and their friends hid in secret rooms— "the Annex"— in an Amsterdam warehouse for 25 months.
Anne, just 13 when the family moved in and only 15 when the Gestapo at last broke down the doors of her secret world, found hope where there was only fear and the first blush of love when outside and all around washed a sea of hate.
Wrote Ernst Schnable, a German writer who has researched Frank's life: "Out of the millions that were silenced, this voice no louder than a child's whisper has outlasted the shouts of the murderers and has soared above the voices of time."

It was sad and felt like i was in her shoes, and got to learn the perspective of those who suffered in the holocaust. Also Anne's optimistic approach despite going through such circumstances is noteworthy and something we should learn.

Listening to this book feels like talking to your 15 year old friend whose wit is far beyond her age, whose thoughts are inspiring and whose dreams and aspirations amaze you. Her diary comes to an abrupt end, with the performer informing you of her sudden capturing and later her death. One can only wonder what Anne would have achieved and grown to become if she lived. Her death hits you like the death of a dear loving friend. The book makes you think of the little blessings in life, of the harsh realities of politics and human evil, inspires, excites and provokes thoughts. Absolutely love this book. It's a must-read and performed beautifully well.

Heart-wrenching thoughts of a young girl. I can only imagine her pain. But even in such a situation, I can see cheer fullness in her writing. She was, after all a normal girl like us.
