Aftermath

A mysterious contagion devastates civilization. The infected are beyond count, and they are running out of victims upon which to feed. Outlaws are taking over as they plunder naïve survivors seeking shelter and protection from massing herds of mutated predators.

Cowboy discovers his awakened abilities to detect the infected and keep them at bay, complicating both his shadowy past and uncertain present. Gloria establishes a refugee camp, relying on Cowboy's help to protect the few from the many. Luke and his father are on the run, joining others on a trek across the country, fleeing scramblers and criminals. Sebridge, a devious colonel plotting his own agenda amidst the chaos, holds Carly and Marik captive. Roger fights a lonely battle for survival, matching his wits against psychotic scoundrels and ravenous berserkers.

Tentacles extending from their fingertips, the infected clutch their prey by the head, curling themselves around the torso. Incapacitated by a jolt of cold electricity, helpless victims fall to the ground, either left for dead or turned themselves. Bodies reformed by an ancient power incomprehensible today, twisted mutations of humans and animals roam unchecked, drawn by tethers of light identifying the uninfected. They are driven and focused to satisfy an endless hunger for mind energy.

Cowboy must figure out his place and purpose among humans and the infected. Luke will face unimaginable loss and find new allies along his path. Carly does everything she can to outlast Sebridge and his maniacal intentions. Roger defies all odds, fighting to live as those around him perish.

Plunge headlong into this tumultuous voyage of immeasurable distress and courageous triumph in Part Three of Disrupted Equilibrium. Steel yourself for a battle with destiny. The fates of many hang in the balance.
