Giovanni & Giulietta: Star Crossed Lovers

"Giovanni and Giulietta - Star-Crossed Lovers" is a modern retelling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, set in present-day Verona, Italy, against the backdrop of two feuding olive oil production families. The story follows Giovanni Romano, a 22-year-old biochemistry student passionate about sustainable agriculture, and Giulietta Jattoni, a 21-year-old medical student aspiring to become a cardiologist.

The Romano and Jattoni families have been bitter rivals for over 130 years, their feud originating from a 1892 dispute over the Colle d'Oro olive grove. This ancient hatred has escalated through generations, encompassing legal battles, sabotage accusations, and corporate espionage, transforming both families into successful but eternally antagonistic olive oil producers in the Veneto region.

Giovanni and Giulietta meet by chance in the University of Verona library, where they discover a shared passion for scientific discovery and academic excellence. Their connection is immediate and profound, leading to secret study sessions, romantic dates through Verona's historic center, and passionate declarations of love spoken in Italian with tender English translations. Their relationship blossoms in hidden corners of the ancient city, from quiet cafés to a secret villa in the countryside.

When Giovanni proposes marriage at Juliet's famous balcony, using beautiful Italian phrases of devotion, their joy is shattered by the devastating revelation of their family names.
