Sorry maar het verhaal slaat nergens op als je er een beetje over nadenkt en er worden veel plot lijnen niet afgemaakt.

Booktok made want to read this book. Let's jump right in with saying that it was everything I didn't expected.The main struggle that I had with this book was was the lack of originality. It felt like if I was reading a copy of the Hunger Games combined with The Night Circus vibes but then way more complicated. I can understand that some authors are inspired by the work of their colleagues, but for me it is essential that they use their own imagination to create a refreshing storyline with new aspects and insights.I found the first chapters very childishly written even for the Young Adult audience. The world building didn't felt interesting to me. I kept reading to see if there would be some character development but that wasn't the case. This combined with everything that i mentioned above made me DNF the book.The storyline goes about a deadly game that appears every 100 years at an island. Curses need to be destroyed and to accomplish that one ruler must die.

Lovedddd itttt!!!! The story is amazing! I could not put it down. The writing was not the best but I was able to enjoy the book nonetheless!💕 A true pageturner that I would recommend, I cannot wait for the second book!❤️
