This is Part Three of The Profound, a magical realism series.

Meet James Tannot, a young man hailing from Dublin, Ireland, whose aspirations extend no further than his medical studies in Southern France. His aim? To obtain his MD from Marseille University. Yet, fate steers him off this course when he fails his entrance exam. Soon after, he encounters a mysterious Armenian physician who unveils to him a clandestine society of healers and magicians known as the Cymdeithas. Welcomed into their fold, James is thrust into a reality where magic and otherworldly powers are as tangible as the shelves of a supermarket. In this journey with the Cymdeithas, James not only finds his soulmate in Manush but also learns that his path to mastery demands a willingness to risk life itself.

But, please do not get this series wrong. There are no vampires and sex driven demons, there are no magic wands and there is no exhilarating battle between good and evil. Instead, it delves into a narrative rich with spiritual wisdom drawn from diverse traditions, portraying a personal odyssey of healing intertwined with humanity's struggle against existential ennui and the shadows of meaninglessness.

While a fantasy novel at heart, Manus Braith's narrative intricately interlaces with everyday reality, offering a profound exploration of existence. So, if you seek merely a thrilling escapade devoid of deeper significance, this series may not be for you. But if you sense a deeper dimension to life, if you perceive a lack in our materialistic world, then delve into its pages.

Braith's novel invites readers into a world where spirituality and magic converge in a distinctive approach to enlightenment. Sometimes lightheartedly comedic, at others, profoundly introspective, yet always compelling, it beckons to those who still harbor dreams.

The individual volumes of the story seamlessly blend into each other, weaving a world that refuses to let go easily.
