When the Moon Fell: Humanity’s Final Eclipse

When astronomers announce that the Moon has been torn from its orbit and is racing toward Earth, panic spreads across the globe—but escape is impossible. Civilization braces for impact as oceans rise, winds roar, and the sky turns a haunting copper color. In the remote wilderness of Labrador, a pilot and a wireless operator find themselves unexpectedly positioned to survive the greatest catastrophe humanity has ever faced.

As the Moon draws nearer, they endure relentless storms, earthquakes, and tidal waves, witnessing forces of nature beyond comprehension. What follows is not just the destruction of the world they knew, but a startling transformation of the planet itself. When the Moon Fell is a sweeping, thought-provoking vision of cosmic disaster, resilience, and the fragile hope of rebuilding after the unthinkable.

Morrison Colladay was an early science-fiction writer whose work captured the era’s fascination with astronomy, aviation, and the power of scientific inquiry. Writing at a time when radio communication and flight were reshaping human possibility, Colladay blended scientific speculation with vivid, grounded storytelling.

Though little is known about his personal life, Colladay’s fiction reflects a deep respect for scientists, explorers, and ordinary individuals facing extraordinary circumstances. When the Moon Fell stands as his most enduring contribution—a bold, imaginative tale that reflects both the anxieties and the optimism of early twentieth-century science fiction.
