Although I love the way the book was written and the worldbuilding, I hated the plain lovestory. I really expected there was another lovestory hidden under the surface from the first moment Sabine spoke. That's what kept me interested. When it turned out I was wrong, it sort of ruined the book for me. I don't want to give any spoilers but I really read something else into the soulbond that made a whole heap of sense to me and made it impossible to read on after the 'plottwist' I had been afraid of was revealed.

My review is about the storyteller and not about the book. I didn’t last more than a couple of minutes because the first speaking male voice was desperately trying to read me to sleep. Why would anyone let such a monotone, depressed voice read a story?
