The self-proclaimed King of the Multiverse, King Aeno, summons four heroes from across the multiverse to his kingdom to compete in the first-ever Tournament of Heroes. These four heroes—Kevin 'Bolt' Jason, Alex 'Beams' Fry, Jack 'Trickshot' McDonald, and Nyle 'Winter' Maxwell—must compete against each other for the title of Greatest Hero of the Multiverse over a seven day period.

What starts off as a competition for glory and honor becomes a battle for survival when King Aeno reveals the fate of the losers: The complete destruction of their home universes. Now all four heroes must battle not merely to win great honor, but to save everyone and everything they love.

If the heroes are to truly save their universes, however, they must uncover the real purpose of the Tournament and do the impossible: Defy destiny itself.

You can't fight fate.

Aware of the Tournament of Heroes' true purpose, the four heroes—Bolt, Beams, Trickshot, and Winter—must translate the only known written copy of the mysterious Prophecy, whose contents may hold the key to saving the entire multiverse from destruction.

They must do it without alerting Sigil, King Aeno's right-hand man, who is hellbent on destroying the multiverse and forcing the heroes to help him do that. At the same time, a group of rebellious Nexian citizens rise up with the goal of overthrowing King Aeno and are willing to kill anyone, including the heroes, who might get in their way.

Yet Sigil and the rebels may be the least of the heroes' problems. Because even if the heroes successfully translate the Prophecy, what they read might destroy them.

Prophecy of the Heroes

Resist destiny.

Two days. Two days left before the end of the Tournament of Heroes and the multiverse itself.

Bolt has fallen. He's been corrupted into the villainous Dark Thunder, a brutal enforcer who keeps the other competitors in line. Meanwhile, Sigil advances his plot to destroy the multiverse in accordance with the Prophecy practically unopposed.

Yet not all hope is lost. The three remaining heroes--Beams, Trickshot, and Winter--hatch a daring plan to save Bolt and stop Sigil before it's too late. They will need the help of Bolt's girlfriend, Blizzard, who holds the key to returning him to normal.

But to save the multiverse, one of the heroes will have to make the ultimate sacrifice.
