ForvirrendeForutsigbarThe book struggles with a rather messy plot, telling not showing and inconsistent tone. Some parts are not fleshed out enough, and other parts drag. The mystery plot is underdeveloped and so is the romance plot. One plot should have taken a bigger spot to streamline the story. There are also an abundance of subplots that don’t get to shine by themselves. The bits with the magical creatures are fine, but suddenly hearing about an erection felt so off. I’m fine with cheekiness, but this just didn’t fit. There is also too much exposition for my liking
