With her large-hearted husband Peppino, and her devoted companion Georgie (who dedicates his hours to needlework, water-colours, and piano duets with Lucia) by her side, her rule is a blissful one. But change is afoot: enter Olga Bracely, the famous opera prima-donna all the way from London, newly married and come to stay in Riseholme. Will this new celebrity topple the rightful sovereign? And what on earth is going on between Georgie and Olga - could he possibly be falling in love with a WOMAN?
