When Sally Vincent left London for a quiet valley in Devon, she and her husband took on more than a farmhouse renovation…

Raining Sideways is Sally’s heart-warming journey from home counties dweller to fully-fledged Devonshire farmer. From her Whiteface Dartmoor sheep, rare breed pigs, and Arucana chickens to her beloved donkeys and Dexter cows, Sally embraces the farm and all its delightful inhabitants.

Whilst battling extreme renovation, violent weather and near-vertical hills, there are also the challenges of modern food distribution and its impact on the business. But as she faces the turbulence of the outside world, Sally turns to her garden for solace, finding light and happiness in nature, animals and her surroundings.

Packed with delicious traditional recipes, comforting tales and old culinary traditions, Raining Sideways is a celebration of the outdoors, food and farming and the magic to be found in a country life.
