As a smutty no-brain-needed romance it was surprisingly good. It’s a shame that there were so few actual transformations involved (practically one scene) with the first transformation happening after ¾ of the book. Unfortunately it also completely lacks resolution of any plotlines save the romantic one (although I applaud that they existed). I understand that it is the start of a series, but still this book as a standalone should have some conclusion.It was reasonably competently written, with just the character of Rick being one big overexplanation and heavy-handed exposition.That being said, I have one problem with this book: the older partner was calling the younger one ‘pup’ all the time. I could consider it as an unfortunate pet name if not for the fact that the exact same noun was being used for his siblings (16yo, 4yo, 9 month old respectively). The situation was being helped a little by the fact that the 19-20 yo guy was treated as an adult by everyone, but just a little.

DNF, creepy because the older guy thinks of the younger one as a 'kid'
