This is a dark series. There is abuse and threats and would be classed as rape.But you have to keep in mind. The world is based in a period where women are always wrong, and medical help is a person in the village. In this world, the dead do not rest, and it's because of a broken God. He just seems mean, but even God's can break.A woman who only wants rest for an abusive dead husband. A fight for freedom and love, twisted and not just in mind but body. Had to keep in mind, this is the story of a God and one who feels wronged and is constantly hunted if he leaves his Realm. In the real world, this would be no excuse among humans. But this is fiction, and when you keep that in mind, you can read the book and fall into the world with little judgement. Great world building and strong characters. So strong, I had to take a break and read something less heavy, dark, and twisted.Definitely not safe for work. High in smut factor. And dark warning, as can cause triggers if you have them.
