The notorious jail superintendent is on a leave. Moinuddin Chacha, taking a pity on Sarabjit and brings him out of his cell. Looking at a cut kite falling in the premise, Sarabjit is reminded of the day he paid Guddi, the local dancing girl, a visit on a celebratory night. Drunk as he was, Dalbeer had barred him from entering the house. That was the night their lives changed forever.
