#1 The endocannabinoid system is the primary way that cannabidiol, along with all the other beneficial compounds in cannabis and hemp, interacts with your body. It is a system present in all mammals and other living creatures that bridges many physiological locations and other systems in the body.

#2 While we can infer a lot from pre-clinical studies, we don’t have any clinical data to back up our initial ideas on CBD just yet. This is because cannabis is a Schedule I drug in the United States, meaning that it has high potential for abuse and no accepted medical use.

#3 This book is important right now because more people than ever before can be helped by CBD and cannabis therapeutics. It is in large part because of all the anecdotal evidence and public support for CBD that the science is being pushed to catch up.

#4 Anecdotal evidence is based on a person’s story of their subjective experience. It is not backed up by rigorous and thorough scientific investigation or proof, but it can be quite useful in evaluating new drugs and how patients are responding to them.
