श्रेष्ठानि तत्त्वानिः

कदाचित् कश्चन पण्डितः नद्यां स्नानं कुर्वन् कञ्चन श्रेष्ठतत्त्वयुतश्लोकम् यदा उच्चारितवान् तदा वस्त्रप्रक्षालानाय आगतवती काचित् महिला हसितवती । ग्राममुख्यः यदा महिलाम् आनाय्य किमर्थं पण्डितं अपमानितवती इति पृष्टे, 'अपमानं न कृतवती । लोके अन्यानि अपि श्रेष्ठानि तत्त्वानि सन्ति' इत्युक्त्वा तानि कानि इति विवृणोति । कथां श्रुत्वा ज्ञास्यामः यत् एकैकः कथं भिन्नरीत्या चिन्तयति इति । (“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”) Once, a scholar was bathing in a river reciting a verse containing great truths. At that moment, a woman who had come to wash clothes laughed. When the village chief brought the woman to the scholar and asked why she had insulted him, she replied, "I did not insult him.
