Adventure

This antiquarian book contains Jack London's 1911 novel, "Adventure". It tells the story of the relationship between a man who finds himself harassed by a group of cannibals on a plantation and a fierce, independent, and liberated woman who arrives at the plantation and changes everything. It is a hard-hitting exploration of slavery and colonialism set on the Solomon Islands, and was the cause of much controversy. An interesting and thought-provoking read, this text constitutes a must-have for fans of London's work, and is one not to be missed by the discerning collector. The chapters contained herein include: "Something to be Done", "Something is Done", "The Jessie", "Joan Lackland", "She Would a Planter Be", "Tempest", "A Hard-Bitten Gang", "Local Colour", "As Between a Man and Woman", "A Message from Boucher", etcetera. We are republishing this vintage book now in an affordable, modern edition - complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author.
