Nato a Londra, Derek vive in Italia da più di 25 anni. È docente di inglese presso l’Università degli Studi di Milano, scrive di letteratura anglo-americana (ma anche di moda, calcio e più ne hai …) e traduce tutto quello che gli capita. Rinomato speaker, doppiatore e presentatore, nonché attore di teatro, Derek non sta mai fermo: he has ants in his pants. Ama il pesto, tifa Tottenham e odia la Brexit. Nessuno, dice, è perfetto.

What’s your name? Una domanda senza complicazioni, una delle prime cose che impariamo in qualsiasi lingua, anche in inglese, the world’s most important language, insieme al Swahili. Ma i nomi sono colmi di significati nascosti, pieni di insidie e, a volte, sono difficili da pronunciare, ahimé. Quella ‘r’ per esempo...
