Invader From Infinity: A Weapon That Refused The Rules

The enemy ship does not threaten. It does not communicate. It simply destroys everything placed in its path and advances without hesitation toward the Solar System. Commander Jon McPartland knows the sealed orders by heart, but knowledge alone won’t stop a weapon that cuts through defenses as if they were never there.

As the battle unfolds, confidence erodes. Every assumption fails. The enemy’s fire behaves differently. Their ship reacts in ways no tactical manual anticipates. When retreat becomes the only option, McPartland faces a more dangerous moment than combat—deciding whether to abandon the fight or gamble on a theory that could either save the System or leave it completely exposed.

Invader From Infinity is a tightly wound confrontation between human ingenuity and an alien intelligence that does not think, fight, or fear as expected. The story builds pressure through command decisions, technical insight, and the growing realization that survival depends on understanding the enemy before overpowering it.

George Whittington published science fiction during the early magazine era, with stories appearing in pulp-era science fiction venues that favored direct action and technical problem-solving. Invader From Infinity reflects that tradition, grounding its suspense in battlefield command, engineering improvisation, and the burden placed on officers who must act without political support or backup.
