You Can’t Keep Us

“My mind was killing me and the voices had increased in both volume and intensity. I felt tortured and I didn’t know how to make it end."

Struggling to find a solid footing while wrangling intrusive voices, depersonalization, derealization and heartbreak is no simple task. It took 12 personalities (alters) with 12 different perspectives to navigate the complex trauma created by childhood sexual abuse. With each alter living a portion of CarrieAnn's life, maintaining friendships, and keeping her sanity became increasingly difficult.

In You Can't Keep Us, CarrieAnn Mausolf gives us a first-person perspective of what it's like to live with a dissociative disorder and how the long-lasting effects of sexual abuse can impact the mind.
