Crushing Need: The Lying Game

Caitlyn Alex Verbeck is out to ruin my life. He’s the big guy on campus. And what’s worse? We’re married. I think. Actually, I’m not entirely sure. You see, we were both on a spring break trip when one thing led to another. I was drinking. A lot. (You know how that goes.) Trust me, I couldn’t have written a better story if I tried and I’m in school to be a writer—screenwriter to be exact. When I found him the next morning, I expected warmth. Instead, I got bitterness and rage. He’s been volatile towards me ever since. But two can play this game. His mother has asked me to write a film on their family. Awesome! If Alex can pretend like nothing happened, then so can I. Until I can’t. Until circumstances tell me otherwise and I’m forced to turn to my enemy for help. Could my life get any more complicated?

Alex There’s nothing I hate more than a liar. And that’s exactly what Caitlyn Grey is. She plays the innocent. My friends and family love her, especially the guys. Too bad she’s mine. I’d find a way to move her on the other side of the mountain if I didn’t feel this crushing need. To keep her close. To watch her every lethal move. My mother asked her to write a script. She’s a great writer. I’d tell her so if I didn’t also want to ring her pretty little neck every time I looked at her … or that damned ring on her finger. If she thinks she can use our baseless attraction to control me, she’s wrong. It’ll be a cold day in hell before I let anyone tell me how to live my life. Caitlyn will pay for what she’s done. I’ll make sure of it.
