He is former Head, Department of Applied Chemistry and Ex Dean, DIAT. He completed Ph.D from I.I.T. Bombay in 1989. He is the recipient of prestigious fellowship of DST, Govt of India, for performing research in UK, Brainpool International fellowship of Korean Government and a number of research and presentation awards. He has 290 research publications, more than 6000 citations and a very high h index of 40 . He has been a referee to more than 20 international journals. Guided more than 70 graduate/UG/ and Ph.D students and several young post-doctoral fellows .Currently looking for fruitful collaboration in Canada, UK, Germany and Australia for study of light emitting QDs.

Science and Technology - Prof. Pawan Kumar Khanna

Having the urge and inquisitiveness to learn and explore, Shivkumar Javdekar earned his Civil Engineering degree from Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Pune. Getting the perfect head start, Shivkumar started his career as a Junior Engineer with the esteemed Shapoorji Pallonji at their Mercedes Benz (c/o Tata Motors) plant in Pimpri, Pune. Discovering his interests in construction, he went on to work with eminent names in the real-estate industry.

He then co-founded Pandit Javdekar with Rahul Pandit, who shared his vision and passion for excellence and achievement. A stickler for perfection, Shivkumar personally scrutinizes every aspect of the construction and business at large to make sure that as the business grows, the fineness and innovations are enhanced to suit the scale. Through his perseverance and actions he attests, ‘We are in this business not just because it is lucrative, we are here for the joy of creation.’

Shivkumar is a fountain of innovative business ideas and often takes on the role as a leader of the business – assuming full responsibility for its performance, success, or failure.

Shivkumar Javdekar and the joy of creating iconic landmarks in Pune

Two members of the Pune Juvenile Justice Board were terminated by the state government for misconduct. They had granted bail to a teenage driver involved in a fatal car crash with unusual conditions, including writing a 300-word essay on road safety. The decision followed an inquiry that revealed procedural lapses and misuse of power by the members. The government found them guilty of misusing their powers under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
