Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770 – 1831) was a German philosopher and an important figure of German idealism. The range of Hegel's interest was very wide and it covers such topics as the history of philosophy, the philosophy of history and the philosophy of religion. Hegel has influenced many thinkers and writers whose own positions vary widely.
